Yahuitl (from Ayahuitl: Darkness), is a project we present with great enthusiasm at Cónclave Curatorial, as this black metal act was born here in our city, Xalapa, as a welcome addition to the local scene, and our catalog.
YAHUITL is a one man band project inspired by the forests and the weather of the Capital region of Veracruz, displaying a sound that evokes the feeling of nature, hatred, nostalgia and loneliness of this region, with an often crude sound, mesmerizing synth sections and a great display of drumming capabilities, all performed by an experienced drummer, coming from the Xalapa-based grindcore act ANTI-FUCK, whose performance favors rythmic lines and interesting use of the tom drums over the classic blast beat rythm, creating an atmosphere that nurtures his riffs and overall songwriting to create a sound that properly conveys the emotions carried through this record, which is further accentuated by the use of acoustic guitars and powerful synths and strings.

With this release we iterate our compromise with the local black metal scene, in hopes of creating a platform to showcase the sounds that Xalapa has to offer to the genre.
